A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce said that in early 2022, Cambodia and Hungary will hold a joint business forum. The online system aims to further strengthen the ties of cooperation between the two countries.
In an interview with local media, the Undersecretary of State and spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, Pen Sovicheat, said at the meeting of the Cambodia-Hungary Joint Economic, Trade and Operations Commission, representatives discussed some of the sectoral work and agreed to cooperate with each other.
“We aim to increase trade volume between each other, which means that trade volume Cambodia-Hungary is now low, we do not know what to do with each other, so to attract investment and business between the two countries, after a meeting earlier this year both countries decided to hold a business forum. At the beginning of next year, we will show each other some of the businesses that need to be involved in promoting.” said the Undersecretary.
Undersecretary Sovicheat said the forum will focus on business matching and highlight opportunities in a number of potential areas, including agriculture, food processing. food security and services in tourism. The business forum will also encourage Hungarian businessmen and investors to expand their business and investment operations in Cambodia.
From 2017 to 2020, the bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and Hungary reached a total amount of more than $16 million, while throughout 2020, the total trade volume between Cambodia and Hungary is more than $4 million.
